I am a piano teacher based in Brighton, UK, with over eight years experience.

Originally from Australia, I continued my training in London with eminent teachers and celebrated pianists including Claire Kitchin, Ronald Lees, Julia Cload, Mary Pells and Helen Burford.
My solo performances have included private recitals, weddings, masterclasses, piano groups, cafes and arts events. I was awarded my ABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance in 2010 and my Certificate of Teaching in 2011. I moved to Brighton in 2015 to set up my practice here.

My focus is upon engaging the student’s enthusiasm for music and developing a broad set of skills: along with learning to play a range of pieces and developing technique, we look at sight-reading, improvisation, writing and composition, and rhythmic and aural skills.

Although there is the opportunity to take exams (ABRSM - classical and jazz, Trinity), and this provides a set of goals for many students, this is not always the best path. In every case, I try to adapt my curriculum to a student’s own aspirations and tastes. The repertoire we cover ranges from classical/art music to folk songs, popular songs, jazz, blues and film music.

Lessons are £15 for half an hour.
